The Foolish Old Man Removes the Mountains is a legendary story from ancient China. The story tells of an old man who had two high mountains blocking his front door. He decided to use the strength of his whole family to dig away the mountains so that they could walk freely. Although his son tried to persuade him to give up the idea, the old man persisted and, with the help of the gods, the mountains were finally removed.
