教学设计

教学目标
1. learn new words & phrases on pages86-87.
2. Learn the story The Winning Team.
.学情分析
这是九年级的英语教学内容。课文内容较长,有难度。学生的英语水准有不同。水平高的,用心阅读,可以基本看懂。对英语学习不那么热心的,学起来自然有一定难度。这篇文章的新单词、短语,也不少。需要学生付出耐心、毅力去掌握。
教学重点
1、  记忆力训练
通过对文章的学习,对新词汇理解,并进而去掌握和使用。这都需要学生去记忆新词汇。
2、  听力训练
听多了,自然对听力有帮助。
3、  书写训练
听课文和阅读文章后,要把课本的习题完成,需要书写的练习。
4、  朗读训练
开口朗读,自然会有助于听力,提升对文章的理解能力。
教学难点
1、  记忆词汇,需要学生全身心投入。有些学生若是心不在焉,学习目标不明确,缺乏动力。于是对以后词汇的使用,就异常困难了。
2、  阅读文章,是很好的提升英语语感的重要方式。所以不管是对于整篇文章的听力训练、阅读,完成习题,都是很重要的教学活动。而有的学生不愿意面对学习的任务,不肯付出努力,这势必给英语课堂带来严重的问题。
教学工具   powerpoint
教学过程
Step 1  Revision
Dictate some words in this unit.
e.g. rather, power, examine, palace, to start with, grey, lemon, uncomfortable
Step 2  Practice speaking.    2a
Have you ever made a mistake? How did it make you feel? Talk to your partners about what happened.
Step 3  Learn new words & phrases.
   weight, shoulder , goal ,  let…down , coach , kick , kick sb. off , be hard on sb. ,besides , teammate , courage  , rather than , guy , pull , pull together , relief , nod , agreement , fault , disappoint
Step 4  2b    The Winning Team
1. Read the story and number the events in the correct order.
______ Peter got home and went into his room.
______ Peter talked to his teammates.
______ Peter missed a goal.
______ Peter’s father gave him advice.
______ Peter realized that he was worried for no reason.
2. Listen to the tape. Practice reading.
Step 5   2c
Read the story again and answer the questions.
Why did Peter feel angry and worried?
What kind of advice did Peter’s father offer him?
Do you agree with Peter’s father? Why or why not?
What happened after Peter told his teammates that he was sorry?
Why did Peter think that he was on a winning team even though they lost the last game?
Step 6   2d
Find idioms or phrases from the story to replace the underlined parts of these sentences.
He could not believe that he did not get the ball into the basket.
She was worried because she disappointed her parents.
Tony was sad that he was asked to leave the team.
You should learn to relax and not put so much pressure on yourself.
The teacher told the students to work hard together and not give up.
Step 7 Homework
   Recite all the new words & phrases.  Practice reading the story.
