in most cases, students fail because of their unexpressive ness and lack of personal opinions about things. Tracing its reasons, we’ll find that our traditional teaching method is one of it. This is really a serious problem worthy pondering—the traditional teachers-centered teaching method, ignoring the real center-the students. Do you agree with me? This traditional teaching method has brought too many disadvantages to the development of students’ all-round ability. Thus, I strongly recommend our teachers to adopt the students-centered method called on by the recent educational reform, freeing them to think independently, discuss openly and learn effectively. For example, with this teaching concept, I’ve been trying to leave more time for students to discuss and solve problems collaboratively and more often interaction between us is the main part in my teaching. Students are bored with the dull teacher-centered class, have you noticed this yet? It is obvious a high time for us to change our teaching method. Through this change, we will make all students active in participating and thinking so that at last they will develop their own ways of thinking and capable of expressing their original ideas clearly without hesitation. This way of lighting, in my view, will be more practical and beneficial for students both in their future job-hunting and in their whole life.
I am an electric lamp that guides the learners to grow in pace with the time. How can we keep up with the time? Can you give me an answer? No matter what answer yours will be, we can find that there is one key factor, that is, creativity. Creativity is an unfailing topic and has been highly advocated by all walks of life. Creative ideas and novel activities are greatly desired in this age. As a teacher, I am engaging not only in teaching with creative methods but also in searching for strategies to inspire students’ creativity. The cultivation of creativity is a crucial part of my class and certainly endues students more power for their future. I’m sure that this enlargement of the lighting scope will be of great help for both teachers and students to catch up with the time.
I am an electric lamp that helps students identify conductive paths in their life journey. What is our society in badly need of now? You know? Versatile talents. None of us can neglect a critical problem nowadays, that is, many excellent students who were once the apples of our eyes are not quite appreciated in the society. They often fail in the job-hunting while the better received ones are those less outstanding students. Why? How many of us have had a deep thought about this? How many of us have tried to find its reasons from our education? The employees have a good reason to do this as they know that excellence in academic study means poor ability in practice. But do our teachers have good excuses to ignore this fact? Certainly, we can not deny that students who perform quite well in academic study are less capable of putting what they’ve learned into practice, seldom is their acquirement of knowledge wider than their special field. As guiders of the new generation, disregard is not a way out. Dear friends, it’s our duty to act, to cope with the problem. A vital policy now is for our education to be focused on the cultivation of comprehensive abilities. In accordance, I have been making great efforts to impart the most practical knowledge and techniques to our learners. And you know just this endeavor is far from enough. To supply more competent youngsters to the society, I also have to help them foster correct outlooks on the world as well as on life. The training of their creative thinking ability, practicing capability, and awareness of science, culture and environment is also duty-bound to me. Meanwhile, I’m making the most of the time in class so that students can have more chance to develop their own interests in spare time. Here, you can see that the most important thing I’m repetitively emphasizing is for our teachers to instruct students out of the shadow of exam-oriented education and cut down the number of bookworms. As electric lamps, my dear teachers, we’re responsible to lead these youngsters to a path of great talent.
I am an electric lamp that does its utmost to open up every student’s heart and helps them grow up through respect and communication. Everyone is entitled to be educated and everyone is equal in enjoying teachers’ attention and solicitude. Thus, we teachers is bound to love every piece of those green leaves with a sincere, respectful and understanding heart and give each of them the same share of sunshine. Through this way our students can grow healthily and develop quickly; through this way we can gain their hearts and trust and through this way we, the electric lamps, can give off light forever.
I am a little electric lamp among hundreds upon thousands of electric lamps just like you all. With these new teaching concepts and teaching methods, I’m very confident in saying that together our heart-and-soul devotion will bring fresh stream and strong vitality to the new generation; together our dedication will arm the new generation with sufficient qualifications to undertake any mission from the society and together we will exert eternal illuminations to the teaching career of our society.
That’s all. Thank you for your attention. |
