2.2 运用能力目的:
通过学习,学生能够讲述Helen Keller 的故事,并运用课文中的语言点讲述你所知道的名人成才的故事.在学习及操练过程中,锻炼高年级学生的合作能力和参与意识,鼓励他们积极的参与、大胆的表达,培养学生学习英语的良好习惯,提高学习英语的兴趣。
2.3 情感态度目标:
通过学习Helen Keller 的故事,激发学生热爱学习、热爱生活的情感,提高学生刻苦学习、坚持不懈的意识。在合作学习中,增加学生的课外知识,使他们了解更多有关名人成才的故事等。
3.教学重点:
掌握基本要求中的单词、句型,能够用英语口头讲述Helen Keller 的故事,及你所知道的名人成才的故事.
4.教学难点
拓展学生的思维空间,将他们现有的知识最大限度的转化成为英语。
5.任务设计:
根据教学目标,设计了一系列的任务链来完成本节课的最终任务:讲述Helen Keller 的故事。任务链有:看图猜人物、讲述人物故事、看图片了解故事背景、听录音认读生词、结合图片理解故事、故事理解测试题、朗读课文、复述课文。
6.教学用具
多媒体,录音机,黑板,粉笔等。
二.课堂教学程序
1. Warming up:
Greet students.(拉近与学生的关系)
2.Leading in:
A: What day is today? What’s the weather like today? What do you usually do at the weekend? What did you do last weekend?
B: Guess what the teacher did last weekend?
(5phrases: went to the park, drew a picture, wrote a letter, learned to play the piano, read a book)
Yes,I read a book and I watched TV. I watched a wonderful programme.Do you want to watch it?
Play the video of the dancing “The Thousand-hand Bodhisattva”.Talk about what they can’t do?What can they do?
And I read the book Three Days to See.
Show the book the teacher read last weekend.(Three Days to See)
Ask the students who wrote it? Helen Keller.
Read a reading material about Helen.Help the students to understand the text easily.

Helen Keller
Helen Keller lived in the U.S.A. She was a great woman.
When Helen was a baby,she got very sick. Afthe many weeks,the doctor said:"she is better,but now she can't see and she can't hear." Her mother and father were very sad .
After a few years,things got worse. There was no way for Helen to speak to other people. She heard nothing. She saw nothing. She didn't undertand anyting.
Then one day a teacher came to live with Helen and her family. The teacher helped Helen to learn about words. Helen was a bright child and soon she learned to spell her first word. When she was older,she went to college.
Helen was very famous. She helped many blind and deaf people. She traveled all over the world and helped many people.
Helen was 87 when she died. The world remembers her today as a brave and wonderful person. She was blind and deaf,but she found a way to see and hear.

此环节让学生带着问题学习课文,为学习新的阅读材料理清思路,也有利于学生自主学习。
3) Answer the questions, and lead out new words. (born, herself, all over the world, model)
通过回答问题,进而引出新词、词组,以强化知识目标的达成。
4) Listen and repeat again, and underline the sentences with “could” and “couldn’t”.
此环节的读、划Key words,有利于对重、难点知识的敲打。
5) Read two sentences “She couldn’t see and she couldn't hear. She could also write.”
4.Practice
1)Game: Encourage the students to say something about the topic. “As a small child, what could/couldn’t you do?”
联系实际生活,谈谈小时候自己能干和不能干的事情
5. Task-fulfilling
Talk about Helen Keller with seven pictures.
6.Homework
A. Listen to the tape and read the story.
B. Retell the story and then tell the story to others.
C. Tell some other stories about Helen Keller and Hawking to your friends.

本课的教学内容是讲述名人学习、生活继承名经历的故事有关的,比较贴近学生生活,是同学们比较感兴趣的话题,能够很好的调动学生的积极性和表现欲!教师要充分利用这一特点来组织教学活动,是同学们在快乐、轻松的气氛中获得很多的知识输入!
