一、教材分析Analysis of this lesson

1. 教学内容 Teaching contents

本节课为外研社版安徽小学英语Book 6,Unit 1,Lesson 1,单元主题为Holidays. 本节课主要学习的内容为学习一些简单的序数词和节日的名称,简单了解日期的表达方式,及相关对话。所学内容与学生的实际生活以及文化知识紧密相连,能够充分引起学生的学习兴趣。我们可以通过把课本知识与文化知识相连,扩宽学生的知识面,提高他们的学习热情。

2.教学重点Teaching points

Understand and say the new words first/second/third/fourth/New Year’s Day/May Day/Children’s Day/National Day.

3、教学难点Teaching difficulties

The dates in English (e.g. January first, February second)



二、学情分析Analysis of this lesson

这节课的教学对象是小学五年级学生,在学生在前几册中已经学习接触过月份及一些节日的名称。通过以前的学习,学生已初步掌握了一些英语知识,并能用英语进行简单的交流。五年级学生的想象力丰富,好奇心强,我运用了“日历”、“时光飞船”来导入新词,以激发他们的学习兴趣,并通过课件大量展示图片,给学生一个强烈的视觉冲击,通过图片创设情境,渗透文化意识,提高综合运用能力。



三、教学目标Teaching aims

1、认知目标Knowledge aim:

(1). 听懂并会说新词first/second/third/fourth/New Year’s Day/May Day/Children’s Day/National Day.

(2). 听懂并会说几个重要的日期

(3). 能简单的问答节日所在的日期。

2、能力目标Ability aim:

(1). 培养学生用英语进行思维的能力。

(2). 能用所学的知识简单的问答节日所在的日期,及用英语进行交际的能力。

3、情意目标Emotion aim:

(1). 培养学生的文化意识,引导学生关注文化,热爱生活。

(3). 通过教学,提高学生英语综合运用水平,激发学生英语学习兴趣,使他们在学习中能积极参与,主动探究,具有一定的学习探索精神。

Flash, tape, tape recorder.



六、教学过程 Teaching Procedures

A. Warm-up

1. Greeting

T: Hello! What’s your name? What day is it today? How’s the weather today? How old are you? My birthday is on December 7th. When’s your birthday?



2. Sing a song. If you’re happy, clap your hands.

T: Are you happy now? If you’re happy, please smile.

T: I smile, because I’m happy. New Year has come. The Olympic is coming.



3.Look and say.

(1).Ask Ss to turn to the first page. Look at the picture and answer the questions.

What can you see in the picture? What are they doing? What holiday is it? What month is it?

(2).Take out the calendar to say out the 12 months.



B. Presentation

1. Present the new words.

(1). Point to the calendar.

T:Look, this is the first day of January. It’s January first. First means No.1.

Point to the first student of the row.

T:He is the first student of this row.

Ask the first students of the rows to read “first”.

(2). Show “second/third/fourth/fifth” in the same way. Count from“sixth”to “twelfth”. Tell Ss to add “th” after the numbers and pay attention to the pronunciation of “th”.



(3). Look and say.

Show some dates on the screen. Ask the Ss who hands up firstly to read them out.



2. Present the holidays.

(1).Show the time machine on the screen.

T: Do you want to get on the time machine to have a look?

Ss:Yeah!

Then show the dates and the holidays on the screen.

T: What date is it?

Ss: January first.

T:What holiday is it?

Ss: New Year ’s Day

Show “May Day/Children’s Day/National Day” in the same way.

(2).Look and match.

Show the dates and the holidays on the screen. Ask the Ss who hands up firstly to say out the holidays. Then ask and answer with Ss to do the matching game.

T: When’s May Day?

Ss: It’s on May first.



3. Present the difficult sentences.

(1). Look at the screen.

T: New Year’s Day has gone. The Women’s Day is coming. I want to buy some flowers for my mom. You’d better buy your mom some flowers. Let’s go to the flower shop first. Let’s see which flowers are perfect. How about these? They’re perfect. Now what should I say to my mom? Yes, Happy Women’s Day!

Then Ss read the main sentences following me.

(2). Listen, read and answer.

T: Let’s see what Donny wants to do for his mom.

Ss look, listen, point, and then answer my questions.



D. Practice

1.Ask Ss to work in groups of five to act out the dialog.



2. Show the pictures of the dialogs on the screen.

  Ask Ss to look at the pictures. Listen to the tape and point at the dialogs. Then answer my questions:

Where are they?

Who’s that girl/woman? How does she look like?

Where’s she from?

3. Ss read the dialogs following me.

4. Ss work in pairs to act out the dialogs.



E. Wrap-up

1.Show some more holidays on the screen. Ask and answer with Ss.

When’s Teachers Day/…?

It’s on September tenth/….

When’s Olympic game?

It’s on August eighth, 2008 in China. I think it’s a holiday for all the people in the world. Please be proud that you are a Chinese people.

2.Ask Ss more holidays they know.

3.Talk about the holidays.

When’s Halloween?

What’s your favorite holiday?Why?

What can you do on that day?

4.Ss work in groups of 4 to do a survey following the example above.





F. Homework

1. Ask Ss to finish the survey .

2. Find out more holidays and the dates.
