Topic: Unit 6  Famous stories (Parts E&F)         Period:5th
Teaching Aims:
1. Describe events or situations using multiple tenses
2. Write descriptive paragraphs based on a model
Important Points & Difficult Points:
1.The symbols [pl] [bl] [pr] [br] and the poem
2. Write a report based on a model.
Teaching Aids:
a tape recorder, transparency(Koko) and a computer
Teaching Steps:
I.  Have a dictation (dictate the new words and phrases of this unit and Parts A, B C).
II.  Teach Part E
1.  Play the Pupil’s Book Cassette and ask the pupils to listen to the symbols and the words.
2.  Write the symbols for the sounds on the board. Write the words on the page under each symbol. Ask the students to tell me other words with the same sounds and add them to the list.
7.        Play the Pupil’s Book Cassette again. Ask the pupils to listen to the sounds and the words.
8.        Say the words slowly and clearly. Check that the students are making a distinction between the sounds .
9.        Play the Pupils Book Cassette again. Ask the students to listen to the rhyme.
10.        Play the recording . Ask the pupils to listen to the words and then write under the correct symbols.
III. Teach Part F (My favourite characters)
1. Tell the students to look at the pictures. Talk with the class about the three stories and the characters briefly. Ask them to read the notes about the characters carefully.
2. Ask the students to read the text at the bottom of page 54. They have to complete the text using the correct forms of the words in the box. They should refer to the notes above when filling in the blanks.
3. Then ask them to choose three characters on page 55. If they choose other characters, they should write the characters; names in the blanks and draw or paste a small picture.
4. The students write the three characters’ names in the notes below the word box. They have to choose some words from the box and use them to talk about the characters.
5. When the students have finished writing the notes, they have to write about the characters in complete sentences following the model on page 54.
6. Ask the students to tell the class about the characters they have chosen.
Homework:
1. Write a report about a sports meet.
2. Go over Parts A, B and C.

Tell the students to read the words and look at the picture. Ask them to circle the answer that they think the most appropriate. The answer is Cinderella.
IV. Part J (Progress check)
Ask the pupils to do the exercises by themselves first, then check their answers.
