一、 Warm-up
  1. Greeting.
2. 做 “Stop! Go!”游戏
用以复习国家、首都和语言,教师命令学生停下时,说出一个国家
的名字(中国或加拿大),然后学生对着最近的人说:
Hello! My name is ____.I live in China/Canada.
I speak Chinese/English.
二、Introduce
1.  用一个地图演示U.S.,提醒学生注意单词的两个字母均要大写并在右下脚加点。由Beijing联系美国的capital city 是华盛顿特区。
2.  通过对话演示know. 根据本单元提示各种问题。
T:  Yes ! You know this country.
This country is_____.(对另一个学生)
What do we/they speak in China/Canada?
S2:  Chinese/Canada
T:  Yes!You know.
We /They speak Chinese/English.
Is Canada east of China?Do you know?
三、Presentation
1.  用课件演示:教师通过出示世界地图演示the U.S.并提问引起学生极思考的兴趣。
2、点击课件, 教师通过课件讲解课文,分析本课的重点单词和语法知识。
3、单词的教学采用指名读,开火车读,小组读,等方式

4.  课堂集思广益,大家共同来解决同学们遇到的问题。

小学五年级英语第一学期Lesson 14
一 教学内容:Lesson 14  Australia
二 教学目标:
   1.掌握词汇及短语:beautiful, beach, star
   2.认知词汇及短语:east, Canberra, kangaroo
   3. 句型:Right! / Very good! / That’s right!
三 教学重点、难点:
   1. Right! / That’s right! 正确!
   这是表示赞同的用语,本课的“very good!”(很好)也属于这种表达法。
   2. Australia has beautiful beaches. 澳大利亚有美丽的海滩。
   以 s, x, ch, sh,结尾的名词变复数时,需要在词尾加-es.例如:buses, boxes, watches, brushes.
   3.能连贯、流畅地朗读课文。
四 课前准备:
   1.磁带,录音机,图片,地图。
   2.板书Lesson 14
五 教学过程:
   Class opening
   Greeting

   Step1: presentation
   Demonstrate Australia with a map. Draw attention to the big letter at the beginning of the word.
   Discuss: what do you know about Australia?

2.Game. Play “Where In the world?” with cards of China, Canada, the U.S.and the U.K.
3.Ask and answer.

Step 3: presentation
1. Show the picture to introduce Australia’s flag, kangaroo and beaches.
2. discuss what they know about them?

2. Work in pairs.

1. Finish off the activity book.
2. Read the dialogues in this lesson.
3. Preview lesson 15.

B: They speak Chinese.

S: Yes\No.(这是一组请求和回应的对话其中“May”的意思是可以)
T:(对学生甲)You are too young to go(在这句话当中too…to意思是太…而不能).
2、Listen to the tape 播放录音,让学生看书跟读
3、 练习
① Play a game:Tic-Tac-Toe
例如:T:May I go to Beijing      S: Yes\No.
②做“Letter”游戏以复习单词的拼写。

prepare to read the story
T: Don’t run , Danny is lost.

T:Now Let’s discussion.
read the story “Danny is lost”
and then listen to the tape sentence by sentence.
T:Boys and girls, you did a very good job.please open your books.Let’s listen to the tape and read after it,ok?
Ss like to talk using as much   
English as possible.

Ss can read this story following the tape.
通过有目的的提问,学生能带着问题去学习学生的学习兴趣大幅度的提高了。学生在一堂课中做到动脑动口,动手在听说读写四个方面都得以训练。
