Step 1 Organization and greetings.
Duty report. A student retell the bike accident in Section A.
Provide students with the chance to speak English, train students to use and play of the target language so as to promote the development of communication ability
Step 2 Review
1. Revise the traffic signs the Ss have learnt.
Have the students say what they means and check the answers with the students.
2. Finish 1b
Check the answers with the whole class.
3. Revise the advantages of bicycles and the structure “ It’s + adj. + to do sth.”.

Group work. Have the students discuss in groups and write down the sentences. Each group chooses one student to report their sentences to the class.
Lead to the new traffic signs by reviewing the traffic signs which the students have learnt , and we can naturally present the new knowledge of the lesson. Let the students discuss how to make sentences to improve their cooperation work and get good sense of competition.
Step 3 Work alone
Have the Ss listen to the tape three times and fill in the blanks. Check the answers with the whole class.
Draw out the other a related content essay by mastering the advantages of riding a bike. Then listen to the passage of the blanks way to train the students' listening.
Step 4 Presentation
1. Listen to 1a twice and mark “T” or “ F”.
Check the answers. Have the students listen to the tape and follow it. 2. Pair work. Have the students act the dialog out in pairs.
2. Read 1a carefully and discuss how to keep safe when riding.
We should never ride too fast.
We should wear bicycle helmets when riding.
If we ride bikes at night, we should have lights on the bicycles or wear light-colored clothes.
We should know more about the traffic rules.
3. Pair work. Act out the dialog in pairs.
4. Group work. Have the Ss read the dialog and find out the language points in groups. The teacher explains the language points and then have the students find the sentences with “if”.
Have the students know riding a bike is not always safe to introduce how to stay safe on the bike. Let the students listen to the dialogue and mark “T” or “ F” and design several relatively simple questions for students according to the text. Then let the student discuss in group how he could ride safely. Because this topic is close to the student life, students can say much to make classroom atmosphere active. Finally let students act the dialogue in role, then have the students make a similar dialogue. It can strengthen the students' self-confidence.
Step 5 Work alone
Finish 2 and check the answers.
