1. each 和every

两者作主语时谓语动词用单数形式。不同的是each强调个体，而every强调整体中的“每个”。如：

Each of us has a computer. 我们每个人都有计算机。

Every student in our class is here today. 今天我们班的每位同学都到了。

此外，each还可单独用作副词。如：

You can buy socks for only ＄4 each. 每双袜子你只需花4美元就能买到。



2. help

help 用作动词时，后面常接不定式作宾语，并且不定式符号to可以省略，即：help (to) do something（帮忙做某事；有助于……）或help somebody (to) do something（帮助某人做某事）。help后还可接介词with，即help somebody with something，如：My elder sister often helps me with my homework. 我姐姐常帮我做作业。”Help!” 是口语中在紧急时刻要别人帮忙时的用法，意思是“帮帮忙；救命”。

help还有名词词性，意思是“帮助”，是不可数名词。如：I need your help. 我需要你的帮助。



3. want

want 用作及物动词，后面直接接名词、代词，如：

I'm thirsty. I want a drink. 我渴了，想喝点饮料。

want 后还可接不定式作宾语，即want to do something，如：

I don't want to go to the party. 我不想参加那个晚会。

want 也可用于want somebody to do something 这种结构中，如：

I don't want Linda to hear about this. 我不想让琳达听到这件事。

You are wanted on the phone / in the office. 则表示“有你的电话”或“办公室有人找你”。这里的want是“有事找（某人）” 的意思。

沙拉（Salad）



美国人在吃主食（main course）之前，一般要吃一盘沙拉。沙拉是西方人钟爱的一种凉拌食品，它保持了食物的原汁原味和天然营养。沙拉品种繁多，有水果沙拉（fruit salad）、蔬菜沙拉（vegetable salad）等。人们喜欢将草莓（strawberry）、猕猴桃（kiwifruit）、西瓜（watermelon）、香蕉（banana）、苹果（apple）等水果洗干净切块，再加上沙拉调料（dressing）、酸奶（yogurt）或牛奶（milk）等调料混合在一起制成各式水果沙拉；将生菜（lettuce）、黄瓜（cucumber）、西红柿（tomato）、胡萝卜（carrot）、西芹（celery）、洋葱（onion）、柿椒（sweet pepper）等蔬菜洗干净切块，再加上盐（salt）、醋（vinegar）、胡椒（pepper）、芥末（mustard）、橄榄油（olive oil）或柠檬汁（lemon juice）等调料混合在一起制成各式蔬菜沙拉。



三明治（Sandwich）



三明治历史悠久。约翰·蒙特哥（John Montagu）被称为三明治伯爵四世，他曾把食物夹在两片面包当中以便一只手拿着吃，另一只手空出来与别人玩扑克。由于这个创意，才有了以后各式各样的三明治。



三明治含丰富的脂肪（fat）和卡路里（calorie）。制成美味的三明治首先需要将精小麦（wheat）制成含有较多纤维质的面包（bread）。再加入些蔬菜（vegetable），肉类（meat）以及一小块营养丰富的乳酪（cream）。当然，根据个人口味，可以变化出很多风味的三明治。

Then, barbeque them for five minutes on each side. Serve the hamburgers on a toasted hamburger buns with sliced tomato, lettuce, and any other vegetables you like. Yum, hamburgers are my favorite.

Hamburgers Ingredients:                            ground beef — 1 pound                toasted hamburger buns — 4 chopped onion — 1/2                  sliced tomato — 1 pepper — 1/4 teaspoon                 some lettuce leaves and other vegetables salt — 3/4 teaspoon

Steps: 1. Preheat the barbeque grill. 2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, pepper and salt. Shape into hamburgers. 3. Grill the hamburgers for 5 minutes on both sides. 4. Serve on hamburger buns with sliced tomato, lettuce, and any other vegetables of your choice.
