Teaching Procedure:
Step1. Bring a real plant to the class. Ask the following questions:
1. How many parts do plants have?
2. What do roots do?
3. What is the stem for?
4. What are leaves for?
5. Why do plants have flowers?
6. What parts do we eat?
Let them answer the questions in English. If they have trouble, help them immediately.
Step2. Listen to the tape and let the students complete the answers correctly.
Step3. Read the text and check the answers.
Step4. Practice
Let the students take out the pictures they bring to the class. Work with partner. Talk about the main parts of a plant and the main use of them. If they have difficulty, they can look at their book.
Step5. Listen to the tape again and imitate after it until they can read it fluently and correctly.
Step6. Let some students read the text in class. Find the mistakes and correct them.
Step7. Homework
1. Finish off the activity book.
2. Go on the next reading in the student book.
Summary:
