Module 2 Whatcan you do?
Unit 1 I can play the piano.
一、教学目标:
【语言知识目标】
1)能听、说、读、写本单元单词:play,tennis, ride, term , that’s all, would    like, worry about, teach...
2)掌握本单元出现的短语和重点句型及情态动词can的用法
【情感态度目标】
培养学生认识自我和肯定自我的能力,增强自信心以及助人为乐的精神。
二、教学重难点
情态动词can/can’t的用法。
三、教学过程
Step 1Warming-up
1.Show some pictures and say what they are.
2.Read the words after the teacher.[来源:&&]
3.Ask the students to read through the words and expressions in Activity 1.
4.Match the words and expre ssions from the box with the pictures.
5.Call back the answer from the whole class and check the answer.
Step 2 Listeningpractice
1.Ask the students to listen to the recording in Activity 2.
2.Check (√)the things in Activity 1 which Tony’s dad can do.
3.Play the recording again, then they can check their answer with a partner.
4.Call back the answer from the whole class and check the answer.
Step 3 Listenand read
1.Ask the students to read the conversation silently.
2.Play the recording and ask the students to listen and read the conversation.
3.Act it out.
4.Ask the students to check (√) the clubs they want to join.
5.Play the recording again .Check the answers:
Step 4 Completethe passage
1.Ask the students to read the words in the box in Activity 4.
2.Read through the passage.
3.Complete the passage with the correct form of the words from the box.
4.Check the answers.
Step 5Pronunciation and speaking
1.Say the sentences in Activity 5 aloud.
2.Listen and repeat.
3.Learning to learn
InEnglish, we pronounce a word in different ways when it is stressed or notstressed. In “Yes, I can”, we pronounce can as /kæn/; in “Oh, good. You cancome to help us”, we pronounce can as /kən/.
4.Play the recording once without stopping.
Step 6  Guessing game
1.Show some pictures.
2.According to the information given and ask the students to guess what it is.
3.Show the pictures to check the answers.
Step 7 LanguagePoints
1.    play 的用法
play 和球类、 棋类名词搭配时,不用定冠词the
e.g.play table tennis乒乓球    play basketball打篮球   
playvolleyball打排球        play football踢足球
play和乐器类搭配时,要用冠词the
e.g.play the violin拉小提琴  play the piano弹钢琴   
playthe guitar 弹吉他
2.I’d like to join the Music Club because I can play the piano.
join多指参加某组织、党派或社会团体, 成为其中的一个成员。
e.g.He joined the League in 2011. 他在2011年入团。
I’mthinking of joining a choir.   我正在考虑加入合唱团。
