1)重点词汇:earth, just, station, latest,month, discover, show, over, also, part, light, real, already, yet, several,beyond, alone, cost, prefer
2)重点句型:-Have you … yet?
               Yes, I / we have already / just …
               No, not yet. / No, I / we haven’t… yet.
               I have been to …    He/ She has gone to …
3)话题:宇宙探索

教学过程
1.Leading-in
Task 1: Revision
Show somepictures and ask students to discuss inpairs and make sentences like these:
(1) Scientists have sent spaceshipto Mars.
The journey has taken severalmonths.
(2) Astronauts have already been to the moon.
Look at thepictures, discuss in pairs and makesentences like these:
(1) Scientists have sent spaceshipto Mars.
The journey has taken severalmonths.
(2) Astronauts have already been to the moon.
2.While-task
Task2:Consolidation and extension
1. Explain the grammar to the students: 现在完成时( have / has +done), especially the uses of havebeen to and have gone to.
2. Let the students do Activity 4,                               then check the answers.
3. Ask the students to work in pairs.Role-play the conversation in Activity 4.
4. To consolidate the uses of have been to & have gone to
Ask the students to do Activity 2 andActivity3 individually, and then check the answers.
5. Let the students do Activity 8:Complete the word map with the words and expressions in the box. Then check theanswers from the whole class.
6. Do a listening.
  Ask the students to listen and complete thenotes, and then check the answers. (Activity 7)
7. Let the students doActivity9, then check the answers.
8. Ask students to read“Around the world”, and then answer the questions after reading.
Q1:What do European languagesuse for the days of the week?
Q2: What day is named afterthe planet Saturn?
Q3: Is Monday the day of themoon?
6. Check the answers.
3. Post-task
Task3: Making a poster
1. Ask students to work in groups ofsix: Making a poster about space travel.
2. Help the students choose a subject,for example, the first moon landing or China’s manned space travels. And lookfor some photos and information about it.
3. Guide the students to write captionsfor the photos and use the information they found to write a description ofeach one and give the poster a title. Let them put their posters up for theirclassmates to see after finishing.
4. Choose the best poster.
Task4:Exercise
Let students do some exercises and thencheck.
4. Summary
Ask the students to say out what tolearn.
课堂作业
Finish the workbook of Unit 3.
