通过让学生描述动物的基本特征和谈论自己喜好的动物并陈述原因,进一步培养和激发热爱动物、保护动物、维护生态平衡的朴素情怀。
教学重点
学生学会动物的英文名称的名词和描写动物特征的形容词。
教学难点
学生能学会正确使用Why do you like…? Because they’re…目标语言谈论动物及喜欢某种动物的原因。
教学过程

T: What’s the guessing game about? Ss: ...
T: Do you like animals? Can you tell me some? Ss: ...
T: Where do animals usually live?
Step 4 Learn the new words
1. T: Today we are going to learn the names of animals. We’ll also learn how to say which ones we like and tell why we like them. Look at the picture and guess what animal it is. (point to a panda) What’s this? It’s a panda, panda. Ss repeat “panda”.
2. T: What are these? They are pandas. Ss repeat “pandas”. (Teach “ tigers, elephants, koalas, lions, giraffes” in the same way.)
Step 5 Practice the new words.
Play a game. 用“Which one is missing?”的游戏操练所学的单词。
Step 6 Match the words with the animals in the picture.(1a)
Give Ss about two minutes to finish 1a and then check the answers.
Step 7 Present the new drills
