I. Teaching aims(教学目标):
(1)Knowledge aims: ①Master the 10 new words—pencil, book, eraser, box, pencil box, schoolbag, dictionary, his, mine, hers.②Learn the sentence patterns below, Is this /that your/her/his…?Yes, it is. It’s mine. /No, it isn’t. It’s his/hers. Are these/those your/her/his…?Yes, they are. They’re mine./No, they aren’t. They’re his/hers.
(2)Ability aims: Learn to use the target language to make a conversation to identify ownership.
(3)Morality aims: Foster students to be a man of noble character who returns the lost objects to the owner once he gets it.
II. Teaching key points教学重点):
(1)Master the simple question sentence patterns with demonstrative pronouns this, these, that, those and positive or negative reply.
(2) Learn to use the target language to make a conversation in speech and writing.
III. Teaching difficult points(教学难点)
Learn to tell the differences between the possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns
IV .Teaching aids(教具): A multi-media computer, a radio recorder
V. Teaching methods(教法): audio-lingual , visual-lingual method, situational method, communicative approach

Step1: Review:
1. Greetings each other.
T: Good morning! Nice to meet you! I am Fan Ancai, You can call me Mr. Fan. Today, I am glad to stand here to be your English teacher. I hope we will have a happy Cooperation, Will you? If you agree with me, Please give me 12 times’ big hands?
In our class, there are five challenges. After our class, we’ll see which group is the best one.. First , I’ll see where all the groups are. Group One, Two...(Here.)
2.Review and lead in
Review the names of objects they have learned to lead to the new lessons by asking and answering the questions.
What’s this/that in English? It’s a/an…(a map, a pen , a ruler)
T: Now let’s talk about some school things as quickly as possible and master them. e. g : a map, pen , ruler.
Step2 Presentation
Learn to understand some more school things.
1.Look at the pictures and master the new words about the school things: pencil, pencils, book, books, eraser, pencil box, schoolbag, dictionary .
Have the students to use the methods of making words and the pronunciation of the vowel letters to read and spell the words correctly. e. g : ① pen, pencil, pencil box, schoolbag; ②book, oo-/ʊ/ ,good, foot, cook, oo-/ʊ/,but schoolbag, food, cool, oo-/U:/;③eraser /ɪ`reɪzə /,bag/bæg/;④dictionary/ ʃən /
T: Let’s go on looking at some more school things and talk about them using the sentence pattern"What’s this in English? It’s a/an… What’re these in English?. They’re pencils"。Pay attention to the sounds of oo"/ʊ/:book cook good foot look";/U:/:school cool room zoo food
2. Finish 1a.
①Ask students to match the words and objects in the picture by writing the letters of the objects on the blanks after the word.
②Listen and repeat them with the record, pay attention to the sound of the vowel letters and word spelling.
3.Quick memorizing the words. Look, read and memorize the words as quickly as possible by themselves.
4.Challenge 1: Look, say and spell.
Look at pictures quickly and say the words of the objects, then spell it orally, the others write them down onto the exercise books.(pen, pencil, pencil box, school bag, eraser, dictionary ), every group will get the points.
Step3:Practice
Learn and use the target sentence patterns
1. Challenge2: Work alone.
Finish 1b . Listen and number the conversations[1-3] on page 13
2. Look, say, learn and use the sentence pattern I.
①Look, ask and answer with the students.
②Ask and answer individually.
③Try to ask and answer using the sentences above.
④Challenge3: Group work I.
Have the students ask and answer in groups of four using the things around them with the sentences below.
Is this/that your pencil? Yes, it is. It’s mine. No, it isn’t. It’s his/hers.
3. Look, say, learn and use the sentence pattern II.
①Look, ask and answer with the students. Is this/that your pencil? Yes, it is. It’s mine. No, it isn’t. It’s his/hers.
②Ask and answer individually.
③Try to ask and answer using the sentences above.
④Challenge4: Group work II.
Have the students ask and answer in groups of four using the things around them with the sentences above.
Are these/those your books ?.Yes , they are. They’re mine. No , they, aren’t. They’re his /hers.
Step4:Consolidation
1.Make a conversation about identifying the owner of objects chosen by the leader of each group. They must use the two kinds of sentence patterns.
(1) A: Is this / that your…..? B: No, it isn’t. It’s hers/his.
A: Is this / that your…..? C: Yes , it is. It’s mine.
(2) A: Are these/those your…? B: No, they aren’t. They’re hers/his.
A: Are these/those your…? C: Yes, they are. They’re mine.
First, each leader of the group chooses the number and they will get the objects that they will talk about.Then talk about them in groups. At last, some members of the groups will act it out in front of the class.
Step5:Project
write down the conversations they made above , then one member of the groups will read it to the class.
Step6 Summary
Have some students fill in the blanks with the words they learned in the class.
Step7 Homework
Make a new conversation using the target languages.
Perform the conversation they made in groups.
