导学案:
Activity 1 Look, listen and point.
活动目标:学习并掌握基础句式并能根据自己所听懂的课文内容进行问答。
1 Read the word---News. Try to get four words, they are: north, east, west and south.
2 Talk about American map, and try to find New York, San Francisco.
New York is in the east of America.
San Francisco is in the west of America.
3 Try to find Canada and Mexico.
Where is Canada? It is north of America.
Where is Mexico? It is south of America.
4 Help the children to sum up , New York and San Francisco are cities in
America, Canada and Mexico are countries.
5 Listen to tape and point to four places.
6 Listen to the tape again and then ask questions.
Activity 2 Now ask and answer.

活动目标: 综合运用所学语言材料, 注重将语言知识转化为语言能力的培养。并通过合作学习,给学生创造自主学习的空间,培养合作意识,激发表达欲望。
1 Read the passage in groups, if they have new words, they can ask each other or they can find the new words in the dictionary.
2 Read it together.
3 According to the passage, they can ask some questions, then ask the other children to answer.
e.g. Where is Washington D.C.?
How many people has New York got?
What can you see in New York? ...
Homework: (Activity Book) Write the sentences about two of the cities. The Information will help you.
活动目标:课堂上的运用时间毕竟有限,更多的运用机会是在课后,通过布置写一封信的作业,让学生学了能用,培养了学生综合运用英语的能力。

预习学案
出示长江\黄长城的图片,问:”How long is it? 引导学生用It’s…回答.复习词汇trees,flowers,shops,supermarkets,buildings等
2.任务呈现与课文导入
Show a picture and say:”This is a picture of my favourite place. What can you see in it?介绍说:”This is a picture of the Great Wall. There ‘s a long wall . there ‘re many trees…”
再出示一张唐人街的图片,问o you know where it is ? What can you see in this picture?
导学案
1、听录音,回答Daming是否想念中国,为什么? Where is Chinatown? What is it like?学生听录音,从书中找出问题的答案,学生回答后教师板书There is a Chinatown in New York. There are lots of Chinese shops and restaurants there. There is Chinese dancing.
2、老师放录音,学生跟读课文.请学生书中的图片,描述图中有什么并用There is和There are说句子 .
3、全班一起完成AB练习1.先让学生讨论如何完成这封Email,然后带领全班朗读例句和提示词,再播放录音.
课堂检测
老师请学生们一起描述教室里的物品,如:There ‘s a blackboard, There are many chairs/ow,desk,pen,pencil,bag,girl,boy等.
课后作业:
给自己的朋友发一封email,介绍自己游览过的城市.
