教材分析：本课时选自外语教学与研究出版社三年级第一册Module7 BirthdayUnit1 Happy birthday，本课课型为听说课。本课时的内容设置是创设情景，导入中心对话，根据中心内容进行发散，进一步学习教材中要求掌握的句子和单词。在教学过程中以学生为主导，老师起引导的作用，利用情境和游戏等方法进行教学。
学情分析：由于三年级学生年龄小，自主学习的能力不强，所以我要求学生在课堂中多参与，多练习，积极主动地去学习。

Teaching Procedures:
Step1: Greeting with the students
T: Hello, I’m Ms Zhang. How are you today?
Ss: I’m fine, thank you!
Step2: Revision
(Teacher take out a pencil then ask Ss :)
T: What’ this?
Ss: It’s a pencil.
T: Suppose I have 12 pencils, now count them please.
Ss: One, two, three, four…eleven, twelve.
Step3: Warming up
1、（询问学生在自己生日的时候有没有举行庆祝活动？如何庆祝？引出本节课的话题：庆祝生日。）
2、Play an English song < Happy birthday>, and Ss sing the song together.
Step4: Presentation
1、New words and expressions.
(Show a picture of a birthday cake, then ask Ss )
T: Look at this, What’s this?
Ss: It’s a …cake. (Guide and teach the word “cake” and show the meaning of it.)
T: Yes, it’s a cake. It’s a birthday cake. Now follow me ：“birthday” (show the word card of “birthday”)
Ss: Birthday.
T: Spell the word please: b-i-r-t-h-d-a-y. (Guide and read)
(Suppose today is a student (Sam)’s birthday, and we are celebrating birthday with him. Wear a birthday cap for the student and guide the student say “happy birthday” to him.)
T&Ss: Happy birthday! (Show the word card of “happy” and read)
T: Today is Sam’s birthday, and we are celebrating together, what we should give to Sam?
(Show a picture of present and guide the Ss say“present”，show the word card.)
T: Spell the word “present”please.
T&Ss: p-r-e-s-e-n-t. (read and show the meaning)
(Give the present to Sam and say )
T: Here’s your present. (show word card and it’ s meaning of “here’s=here is)
Words game.
老师把学生分成若干组，老师手中拿单词的图片进行展示，要求各组讨论达成统一意见后写出该图片对应的单词及其中文意思并推荐一位组员展示讨论结果并念该单词。回答正确的组奖励红旗。最后得红旗最少的一组唱英文歌曲<Happy birthday to you!>.
Step5: Practice
( Student <Sam >stand in front of the classroom, and teacher play a role with him as an example)
T: Hello, Sam. Happy birthday! Here’s your present.
S: (Open the box while asking:) What’s this? Oh, it’s a pen! Thank you! (Write “Happy birthday”, “Here’s your present ” on the blackboard and read).
(The whole class Sing a song “happy birthday” to Sam)
(The whole class practice the dialogues with their deskmates)
T: Now, who can play the role and practice?
(Invite three group of 6 Ss to practice)
S1 (Hold a present box ): Happy birthday, Daming! Here’s your present.
S2:（Open the box while asking:） What’s this? Oh, it’s a pencil! Thank you!
S3 (Hold a paper of birthday cake): Happy birthday, Lingling! Here’s your cake. (Guide)
S4: Thank you!
S5 (Hold a book): Happy birthday, Amy! Here’s your book.
S6: Thank you!
Step6: New course
T: Now open your book and turn to page 26. Finger the words and listen to the tape.
(Ss listen to the tape and finger the words)
T: Now let follow the tape this time.
(Ss follow the tape and read.)
T: Follow the teacher to read the text again.
Step7: Chant
(Show them a chant and the whole class chant it with the hands clap.)
