牛津初中英语 8BUnit2 Traveling--Integrated skills教学设计

教学目标:  

    本节课为第二单元第七课时,主要是对学生进行英语听,说,读,写的综合训练。要求学生通过读和听获取有用的信息,掌握听力材料中的四会单词和词组,完成课本上相关的听力练习;学生能识别用来描述有代表性的假日活动的关键表达法;能够询问和回答有关旅游地点的信息。  

教学准备:1. 多媒体  

          2. 录音  

          3. 制作一段关于中国旅游景点的视频短片  

教学重点:掌握参观中国各景点的最佳时节表达。  

教学难点:听懂录音材料的内容并完成课本相应练习;  

掌握句型“ Spring is the best time to do/ for doing…”  

教学流程:  

1. Lead-in  

First, let the students watch the video about some tourist attractions in China.    

Ask:   

Do you like the video? What can you see in the video?     

Leading: In the video, we can see some tourist attractions in China. I like traveling there.  

(通过“视频”这种形式吸引学生的眼球,让学生尽快从课间松弛的状态融入课堂,调动学生的积极性,激发学生的兴趣;同时,老师可以很自然地引出本节课的主题:Traveling in China.)  

2. Presentation  

Show some pictures of different popular tourist attractions and talk about them.   

1) The picture of Qingdao: a seaside city                               

Ask:   

(1) What’s the name of the city?   

(2)What can you do there? (do water ports/go sailing)  

Lead students to read: do water sports/go sailing  

(通过图片让学生熟悉青岛这座城市的典型特点:海滨城市seaside city,熟悉听力材料中的单词,便于学生提高听力效率。)  

Ask:   

Which season is the best time to visit Qingdao? (Summer is the best time to visit Qingdao/for visiting Qingdao.)  

Lead students to read:  Summer is the best time to visit  Qingdao /for visiting   Qingdao  .  

(引出并带读本节课的重点句型)  

2) The picture of Hong Kong  Disneyland   

In China, we can also go to some famous theme parks. What theme parks have we learnt? (Ask students to say something about Hong Kong Disneyland)   

(复习已学相关知识)  

Ask:  

What other famous theme parks do you know in   China  ? (Window of the World)  

Ask:   

(1)Where is it?  

(2)What can you see and do there?  

(3)Which season is the best time to visit it?  

3) Pictures of some famous mountains in   China  .  

  Leading:   China   has lots of beautiful seaside cities, special theme parks as well as some famous mountains.  

Ask:  

(1) What famous mountains do you know in China?  

(2) Do you know what this mountain is? (Lushan Mountain  )  

(3) What can you do there? (go hiking/enjoy the beautiful view)  

(4) Is spring the best time to go hiking?  

4) Pictures of the Chinese gardens.  

Leading: If you want to go to a quiet place, you can go to visit Chinese gardens.   

Ask:  

(1)What Chinese gardens are the most famous in China? (Chinese gardens in   Suzhou  )  

(2)Which season is the best time to visit it?  

(3)What can you see there?  

Leading: The gardens are beautiful and special. I think it is a good place to relax ourselves.  

(通过展示以上的图片,引发学生思考,让学生进行简单描述,提高学生的口语表达能力。)  

3. Read the dialogue and ask students to finish PartA1.  

Ask the students to check the answers in pairs.  

A: What does Millie like?  

B: ……  

4. Listen to a radio programme about traveling in   China   and finish PartA2.  

Ask the students to check the answers in pairs.  

A: Which season is the best time to …?  

B: ……  

(本环节没有单纯为答案而对答案,而是采用两人合作对话的方式,一方面,提高学生说的能力;另一方面,可以很好的操练本节课的重点句型:…is the best time to do/for doing…)  

5. Use the information in PartA1 and A2 on page 34 to finish Part A3.  

  Check the answers.  

  Ask the students to read together.  

  (在做这部分练习之前,让学生先明白A3部分的内容,然后再填空,核对答案,集体朗读。这样符合学生由易到难,由浅入深的认知规律。)  

6. Pair-work.  

  Leading: Students in Class1, Grade 8 like traveling. We like traveling too. May Day holiday is coming. Where do you want to go? Now, discuss with your partners about your holiday plans. You can choose any places you like or choose from the table in Part A1. You can ask and answer like this.  

(1)Do you like traveling?  

(2)What famous places have you ever been to?  

(3)Where are you going to travel?  

(4)What are you going to do there?  

(5)Which season is the best time to visit it?    

(6)How are you going to go there?  

  (对话练习,让学生进一步熟悉掌握本节课的重点句型;让学生更熟悉中国的名胜古迹和参观浏览的季节,培养学生对祖国大好河山的热爱。)  

7. Have a discussion.  

  The teacher shows some pictures.   

Ask:  Do you know what place it is? (  Hainan  Island  )  

  Leading: Now the government is trying to develop it into an international tourism island. But they face lots of problems, such as the high price and pollution. At present, the local government is asking for some advice on the Internet. Please work in groups of six to talk about what the local government can do.  

Give some advice to the local government:  

1. Encourage the local people to learn some foreign languages, especially the drivers.  

2. Reduce pollution to make the environment more beautiful.  

3. Provide more hotels for visitors from different parts of the world.  

4. Make the local food more delicious and special.  

5. Provide more meaningful souvenirs.  

6. Advertise on the Internet/in the newspaper.  

(本环节将“海南国际旅游岛”这一热门话题引入课堂讨论,引发学生的参与意识。让学生对建设国际旅游岛提出自己的意见,主要是拓展学生的思维,鼓励学生用英语去思考、表达现实问题,学以致用, 提高英语口语表达能力。)

教学反思:  

   在本节课设计的过程中,我大胆取舍,把speak up部分推迟到下节课再学习,这样可以让学生有充分的时间进行听说能力的训练,让学生可以对听力材料进行很好的消化、吸收。  

   学习最大的老师是兴趣。所以,整节课下来,我处处注意培养学生的兴趣。例如,一开始关于中国风光的视频的使用,就是为了提高学生的学习兴趣,还有后面一些图片等的使用。然后,在这些图片背后引出本节课的重点句型,并进行重点操练。  

   英语是一种语言,语言就需要开口去说、去表达自己的想法。所以,我在设计的时候,注意创设各种情景,让学生在实际的语言运用中感受英语的智慧和乐趣。根据学生的不同情况,设计不同的运用要求,尽量让每位学生都能有机会去表现自己,体验成功的快乐。
