教 材 分 析

本单元内容紧贴日常生活介绍,都是学生能够接触、触碰到的身体部位,学生比较感兴趣,可以引发学生的认同感,常见病情状态易于模拟,容易活跃课堂气氛,可以在比较轻松的环境下较快地掌握大纲要求学习内容。

本节内容是话题知识的呈现,是知识输入部分。

学 情 分 析

乡镇中学留守学生多,日常口语练习相对较少,学生口语表达能力弱,学习分化情况比较突出,在一定程度上必然会影响教学效果。教学上,应紧密结合教学内容,创设教学情境,教学前要准备充分,多准备有关身体的图片及教学PPT,增强学生观感,活跃课堂气氛,调动学生学习积极性。

教 学 目 标

知识目标:1.掌握身体各部位名称的英文表达方式;2.能表述身体的种种不适以及对他人身体的种种不适给予适当的建议。

过程方法:Talk about your health; Give advice。Autonomous learning and cooperative investigation。

情感目标:培养学生互相关爱,增强同学之间的相互了解和友谊。

教学重点和难点

1.教学重点

词汇:head, ear, face, eye, nose, mouth, tooth(teeth), neck,  stomach,  foot(feet),  leg,   back,  hand,  arm.

短语:have a cold,  have a fever,    have a sore back,   have a sore throat,  have a headache, have a  toothache,   have a stomachache.

2.教学难点

Learn to use these structures:①What’s the matter?②I have a headache.③You should drink some tea.④That sounds like a good idea. ⑤I have a sore back.⑥That’s too bad.⑦I hope you feel better soon.

I.Warming up by discussing

Hello, everyone! Can you name the parts of your body? How many parts of the body can you name? Let’s look at this picture the doll and name the parts of the body.

They name the parts of their body:arm, back, ear, eye, foot, hand, head, leg, mouth, neck, nose, stomach, tooth.

以学生熟悉的话题引出本节课的重点

II. Presentation.

1.Tell them keeping healthy is very important. So the content today is being healthy.
2.look at the picture and read the name of the body parts. And look at the picture of the students numbered 1 through 5.
3.Say:Can you tell what part of your body doesn’t feel good? Now let’s learn the new words in the picture. Please read after me. matter  sore  have  cold  have a cold  throat.
4.Ask the students to write down the useful expressions from the conversation :have a cold, have a stomachache, have a sore back, have a toothache, have a sore throat

Write the correct letter after the name of each body part on the list.  They must complete the activity individually. Here are the answers.

listen to the recording. There are conversations about each of these five students. Look at the picture and find the people that are being talked about. Listen to the tape and write the number next to them in the picture next to their names. Nancy=3   Sarah=1   David=2   Ben=5   Judy=4

III.Pair work and speak

Work in pairs. Make their own conversations out of the picture on page 7. Then present their  conversations to the class, using have for talking about health problems.

They read and remember the useful expressions:
A: What's the matter? B: I have a sore throat.
A: What's the matter? B: I have a cold.
A: What's the matter? B: I have a stomachache.
A: What's the matter? B: I have a sore back.
A: What's the matter? B: I have a toothache.

IV.Listening

1.use have for talking about health problems and give advice using modal verbs should/shouldn’t.
2.Express some illnesses:
—I have a headache. He has a stomachache. She has a toothache.
3. Read the phrases:
1).toothache / a. lie down and rest 2).sore throat/ b. hot tea with honey3).stomachache/ c. see a dentist4).fever/ d. drink lots of water.
4. listen to the recording of four different conversations. People are talking about health problems they have and are getting advice from others. Draw lines to match the problems with the advice.
5. Look at the pictures on page 8. Ask them to listen again and fill in the blanks. Write the missing words on the blank lines.

—You should go to bed.
—He shouldn’t eat anything.
—She should see a dentist.

They read the phrases.
  
Listen to the tape for the first time, and match the problems with the advice. fever → drink lots of water; sore throat→ hot tea with honey; stomachache→ lie down and rest; toothache→ see a dentist
They fill in the blanks like this.
I have a sore throat.  
You should drink some hot tea with honey. I have a toothache.You should see a dentist. I have a stomachache. You should lie down and rest. I have a fever. You should drink lots of water.

V. Make a conversation of their own in pairs using the information from activities 2a and 2b.

Take turns having problems and giving advice.

They make conversations according to the listening matiarals.
A: What’s the matter? B: I have a sore throat.
A: Maybe you should drink some hot tea with honey. B: That’s a good idea.

教 学 反 思

本节课主要内容是谈论身体健康问题及提出相应建议,与学生的日常生活息息相关,因此,课堂气氛比较活跃轻松,学生兴趣比较浓厚,学生在表达时不再感觉无话可说,学生整体学习效果较好。作为八年级的学生,特别是乡镇中学,学生的词汇量还不是很丰富,仅能根据几种简单的疾病短语让学生编对话,影响了学生的积极性。在对话练习环节中,可变换形式,改成小组练习,一位学生扮演医生,其他成员是病人,每位病人要有不同的病情,医生要询问姓名、年龄、性别及病情,并要填写病历。最后看哪个小组看的病人多。
