B: Familiar the questions and answers about how to describe people's looks by listening.
C: Be able to talk about people's looks fluently and know how to appreciate others.

1. Master the words and phrases about how to describe people's looks.
2. Master the ways about how to describe people's looks.
教学流程:
Step1 Check the words and phrases
以抢答的形式检查单词和短语。
目的:检查面广,基本上每个同学都可以有机会抢答并检查自己对单词和短语的熟悉程度,而又不会因检查单词而耽误态度课堂时间。
Step2游戏 ----新课程的导入
找出两名外貌差异较大的学生来做游戏,一个胖而高大的男生(a fat and tall boy),另一个瘦而较矮的男生(a thin and short boy)。
游戏内容:(1)拔河(tug-of-war) (2)跳远(long jump)
目的:引起学生的学习兴趣,了解人物的外貌特征,通过游戏的最后结果(即不管外貌如何在不同的游戏中都能获胜)的对比培养学生的情感和态度:不要以貌取人(Don’t judge by appearance)。
然后用这两名学生为例引入heavy ,tall, thin, short及两个句型:
1.what do you look like? 2.What does Tom/he look like?
Step3 Describe yourself(1a).
分别找出几名外貌特征对比鲜明的同学,通过身高、体型、头发三方面一对比的方式描述自己。
目的:再次熟悉描述外貌特征的词语并学会用这些词语描述自己的外貌。
然后用这几名学生为练习两个句型:
1.what do you look like? 2.What does Tom/he look like?
Step4 Listening (1b).
(Look at their books Listen and fill careful1y).
Listen carefully and fill in the blanks and find Amy’s friend? We will listen twice.The first time, just listen.The second time,listen and fill in the blanks.And say Amy’s friend’s look.( He's really tall.And he has curly hair.)
Step5 Conversations(1c).
以对话接龙的形式练习1c的对话。
目的:再次熟悉描述他人外貌的问句和答语,并练习描述自己朋友的外貌特征。
Step6 Listening (2a&2b).
Guess the answer of 2a first. Then listen carefully and check your answer. Listen again and fill in the chart in2b. Then ask and answer about David, Sally and Pete's looks.(What does David look like?/ What does Sally look like?/ What does Pete look like? )
Step7 Pairwork(3).
先找两组学生以对话的形式明确对话中空白处的内容,再让学生们以自己的实际情况编对话请同学们猜出他们谈论朋友(Who is my new friend?)
目的:激发学生说的欲望,并在此巩固描述他人外貌的问句及答语。
Step8 自我梳理.
Make a conclusion about what you learned today by yourself. Then write them on the blackboard. Next check them together.
Step9 Practice.
Finish the questions in the exercise paper.then check then together.
