   SectionA Topic2 Unit 7  of  Book7
Can you sing an English song ?

The main activities : 1a and 3.
Aims and demands
     1. Learn the new phrases:
     2. Learn the usage of “can ” and“can’t”for ability and inability.
     3. Learn the alternative questions.
Teaching focus and difficulties: Learn the usage of “can ” and“can’t”
Teaching aids :Multi-media Computer
Teaching methods :Five-finger Teaching  
Step 1 Review
     Ask and answer between teacher and students to review what they have learned.
Step 2 Presentation
    Have them listen 1A to lead in the usage of can and can’t.
1. The teacher play basketball,and say to the students: I can play basketball.
Help them to use can to say right sentences.
   2. Ask :What’s your favorite sports to lead in can’to.
   3. Take out a guitar.
T: What’s this?
S2: It’s a guitar.                                                                                          
T: I can’t play the guitar. Who can play it?
S3: I can
    4. The teacher ask some students to perform in the front of the classroom and help them to finish the following dialoge:
T:  What’s he/she doing?
Ss: He/She is dancing.
T:  Aha! He/She can perform ballet/dance to disco.

    5.Have them finish 2and them check the answer and ask some students to act it out.
    6.Listen and answer some questions and check the answers.
    7 Read and find out the main phrases ane sentences.
Step 3 Consolidation
    Review 1amark the stress and intonation
    1.T: Follow the tape and mark the stress and intonation with your pencil.
    2.Read after the tape to follow the stress and intonation。
Step 4 Practice
    Practice 1b and 1c
    1. Have them finish 1b1and 1c
(1)master the usage can andcan’t .
(2)Help them to use  it  in our daily life.
T: If you are at a party, what can you do? Work in pairs. Compare your answer with your partner’s.
Step 5 Project
   Group work
   1.Finish 4
   T: Survey what your classmates in your group can or can’t do and complete the table. Then report it to the class. Put a“√”forcanand a“×”forcan’t.
