I wantto be a musician and Peter wants to be a scientist. 二、选择关系 表示选择关系的复合句常由or连接，表示在两者之间选择一个，前后分句的时态保持一致。 e.g. You can stay at home, or you go to thepark with us. We cango swimming after school, or we play football together. 三、转折关系 表示转折关系的复合句常由but连接，表示转折，前后分句的时态保持一致。 e.g. Jim is only five years old, but he canspeak five different languages. Mymother won’t go to the party, but my father will go. 使用并列复合句要注意的几种情况。 1) 并列复合句有时可不用连词，而用分号隔开（前后句之间的关系须相当紧密）。 e.g. We fished all day; we did not catch asingle fish. 2) 并列连词后的简单句如果与其前的简单句有相同的部分，则相同的部分常可省略。 e.g. Snoopy lives in his own world and (Snoopy)finds real life hard to understand.
