probably
作为动词,意为“大概,很可能,也许”,它在句中的位置有以下几种情况:
﹙1﹚放在句首。例如:
Probably the best way to learn Spanishis by actually going to live in Spain .学习西班牙语最好的方式可能是整正到西班牙生活。
﹙2﹚放在实义动词前。例如:
He probably told her all about the matter.他很可能把这一切都告诉了她。
﹙3﹚放在助动词,情态动词或动词be之后。例如:
It’ll probably rain。天可能要下雨。
He was probably astonished to see his father.见到他父亲,他可能会感到吃惊。
opinion
作为名词,意为“意见;看法”。例如:
I will be giad to hear your opinion.我将很高兴听取你的意见。
【拓展】作为名词,意为“在某人看来”,in one’s opinion 相当于in the opinion of sb. 例如:
In my opinon,you should go there by yourself.在我看来,你应该自己去那儿。
Belong
作为动词,意为“属,应归入”,常和to连用构成短语belong to.意为“属于”,不能用于被动语态,也不能用于进行时态,但常用belonging to的形式作定语。例如:
China is a country belonging to the third world.中国是一个属于第三世界的国家。
【拓展】(!)belong to后面长接人,这是句子的主语习惯上用表示物的名词或代词来充当。例如:
This telephone belongs to me .这个电话是我的。
(2)belong to也可意为“是……的成员之一”。例如:
I belong to this tennis club. 我是这个网球俱乐部的成员之一。
Step1. Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”
Lead in by discussing the following questions:
Why do you sometimes fight with others? How do you feel after the fight?
Finish the task in groups. After discussing it for a while, make the best one to show it in the class.
Step2. Listen to the tape and answer the following questions:
Where do Danny and Brian meet?
Do Danny and Brian stop fight in this lesson?
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step3. Read the text and tell the main idea of the text. Pay attention to Danny’s and Brian’s opinions about this.
Step4. Read the text and decide the statements are true or false.
Danny and Brian both think Jenny’s cookies are good.
Brain didn’t think the money that Danny’s picked up was his.
Danny can’t agree with Brian’s opinion.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step5. Pair work
Work with your partner. If you were Jenny, what would you do to stop them from fighting? Do you have any other good ideas?
Work in pairs. Then discuss it for a while.
Let some volunteers come to the front to give their advice.
Step6. Come to “LET’S DO IT”.
Finish the task in group work. Ask them to make up a dialogue or a role-play.
First, they must make a plan for the play. What happened to you? Who are fighting? Why?
Give them five minutes to finish the task. If they don’t have enough people to play, they can ask the teacher to take part in it.
Step7. Homework
Have you had a fight with your friend? Write it down.
Go on the next reading in the student book.
Summary:
The teacher can take part in the students’ activities. They can help the students make a plan to play it better. The teacher can provide them some new words if necessary. Praise them after they act a dialogue out.
