Unit2Topic1SectionA

Analysis of teaching materials

There are 3parts in it .

The first  part is 1a,1b and 1c .1a is about a conversation between Betty and Kangkang .It lead in the target language :what is wrong with ...?I have a....Y ou should ....and some new words .1b is about making some conversations after the example .1c is about present some other illnesses by some pictures and consolate the target language .

The second part is about setting up some situations about illnesses and leading in the modal verbs :should / shouldn’t to give some suggestion for the illnesses.At the same time,learn some new words and phrases .

The third part is about a listening material about talking illnesses and some suggestion .

Analysis of the students

The Ss have their habits to learn English ,but they are lazy or shy  to speak,and talk each other in English in class .

Analysis of teaching objectives:

Knowledge of objectives
1 Learn some new words and useful expressions about illnesses and suggestion for illnesses and difficulties .
2  Grasp the usage of the modal verb should /shouldn’t .
Ability of objectives
1 Enable to understand the conversations about talking illnesses and get some main information .
2Enable to speak and talk about some illnesses and some suggestion for the illnesses with classmates in English .
3Enable to read English with a right intonation and act them in pairs in class .
4 Enable to write some right English sentences according to the topic .

Moral objectives
1 Develop their spirit of  cooperation .
2 Realize to take good care of themselves .
3Give a hand to the people in trouble .
Teaching keys
1 Grasp the target language ,useful expressions and some new words about illnesses .
2Grasp the usage of the modal verbs should,shouldn’t .
Teaching difficulties
Encourage the Ss to take an active part in the class activities .

  Teaching tools :a recorder ,PPT ,an English book .
The teaching methods:情景交际法,任务型教学模式,听说法

Show a picture of the body
Say the parts of the body
Use the old knowledge to lead in the new knowledge .It’easy to learn the following .
2Presentation
1 Set up a situation :Suppose we don’t look after ourselves well .There is something wrong with our body .We will have a toothache/headache /backache /stomachache /sore eyes .And write them on the Bb .
2 Show PPT and present the target language  :What is wrong /the matter with her /him ? She /He has a cold /fever /cough /the flu . And at the same time ,write them down on the Bb .
1 Learn to read the new words about the illnesses .And find out the rule of the formates of words .
Develop the skill of self -study and summary .It is  a easy way to remember English words .
Consolation
1Pre-listening
Show PPT and ask “What is wrong /the matter with her/him ?”
2While-listening
First, play1a and answer “What is wrong with Kangkang ?”
Secondly ,play1a again and answer “What does Betty ask Kangkang to do ?”
3 Post-listening
Discuss to give some advice if we have a cold /a backache /sore eyes

1 All the Ss answer :She /He has a.../the ...”quickly .

2Listen and answer the questions .







3 listen and say: “You should /shouldn’t take a rest / read too long .
1Develop the skill of the listening .















2Develop the skill of the cooperation .
Practice
1Show PPT.Show the pictures from the 3rd part ,and discuss “What is the matter with her /him ? Then listen and write the advice according to what they listen to .At last ,act them in pairs in class .
2 Walk around  and give them a hand when they need .
3 Check the answers and deal with  some new  language points in it.
1Watch,listen , write and say.








2 Finish 2 alone

1Act 2 out in pairs after they make similar conversations

Homework
1 Read and remember  the new words and phrases learned today for the dictation .
2Finish the WORKBOOK Section A.

Section A
What is wrong /the matter with her /him ?
                      She /He has a toothache/headache /backache /stomachache /sore eyes .
She /He has a cold /fever /cough /the flu . .
                  You should see a dentist ./take a rest /drink plenty of boiled water .
            You shouldn’t drink coffee or tea at night /lift heavy things.

Analysis of teaching materials

The 2nd part is about 2a and 2b .2a is about making conversations after the example with the information given in the SB .2b is about filling  in the blanks according to the pictures .
Analysis of the students
The Ss have their habits to learn English ,but they are lazy or shy  to speak,and talk each other in English in class .

Help to answer ook, he looks pale .He is feeling terrible .Write the new words :pale /terrible on the Bb .

First, play1a and answer “What is wrong with Bruce ?”
Secondly ,play1a again and answer “What does Steve ask Bruce to do ?”

Practice 1a in pairs and then deal with the language point: How long have you been like this ?
