教材分析

这一单元的教学内容直接引语（Direct speech）和间接引语（Reported speech），在整个初中英语教学中，间接引语的学习是一个重要环节。在这一单元的前面部分的学习中，学生已经有了初步的了解。这篇阅读材料是进一步学习和巩固本单元中心目标语言，培养学生综合运用间接引语的能力，占据这一单元的主导地位。同时，在阅读课中对相应阅读策略的培养是中学生必须掌握的阅读技能提高阅读能力，这正是素质教育中对英语教学的要求。即要求学生尽可能的获取大量信息，开阔视野，提高兴趣，扩大词汇量，在丰富知识的同时提高应用语言的能力。而文章中体现的价值观——帮助他人，完善自我，值得同学们了解学习，帮助他们树立正确的人生价值观。

学情分析

八年级下学期的学生已有一定的阅读阅历，并掌握了一定的阅读技巧。阅读能力的培养与提高对他们来说显得尤其重要。阅读是增长知识、获取信息的主要途径，阅读能力是英语教学的重点。阅读理解能力影响并制约听、说、读、写能力的形成和发展，中学英语教学大纲也把培养阅读能力作为一个主要的教学目标。

教学目标

1) 知识目标：学习掌握词汇village, area , thin, ate, decision, open up, start, influence, danger, as, finish ,make sb do

(2) 能力目标：在语言输入的同时完成语言输出，在听说读写译中提高语言技能，提高综合运用语言的能力。着重培养学生读的能力：速读，浏览，跳读，精读和任务型阅读能力，

(3) 情感目标：通过学习志愿者杨蕾的支教事迹，培养学生热爱社会公益事业、扶危济困的优秀品质。

教学重点和难点

To use “Direct Speech and Reported Speech”.

To find out the information and get the general idea of the text.

板书设计： She said helping others helped her life. Summary： Paragraph1: Teaching high school students in a poor mountain village changed the life of Yang Lei from Peking University. Paragraph2: She said young people today needed to experience different things. Paragraph 3: The students love having the volunteer teachers there. Paragraph 4: Yang Lei said she could open up her students’ eyes to the outside world and give them a good start in life. Paragraph 5: She enjoyed her time as a volunteer very much.

教学反思

1、在设计教学活动时，为了帮助学生更好的理解课文，第一次阅读课文前，设计了四个问题Who is Yang Lei? What did she do? Why did she do that? How would she help? 要学生带着问题阅读，然后用笔写出来并且作口头回答。第二次阅读时，要求学生找出每段的中心句以及整篇文章的主旨句，这样，就将阅读的难点分散了，学生能较好较快的理解课文。教学任务设计比较合理，既符合学生心理特点及认知规律，又注意激发学生的学习兴趣和主动性。

2、一节课下来，大部分学生都能积极投入到课堂教学中来，并积极举手发言。课堂气氛比较活跃，调动了大部分学生听课的积极性，因此合作教学对提高学生实际的语言交流能力、以及与他人的合作能力有很大的促进作用。但很明显的，语言表达能力强的学生参与的机会比较多，代表小组汇报的机会也多，而另有一些学生却习惯于当听众，被动地接受别人的观点。很少发表自己的个人意见，也就是说在小组合作学习中学生的参与度不均衡，而这部分学生主要是学习困难生。

3、长篇阅读丰富了本单元的课外知识扩展了学生的视野，是对本单元语言知识和语言能力的再利用和升华。我采用阅读教学法，通过发现问题、分析问题、解决问题来获得知识，强调自学与合作学习,在完成任务的同时学习语言。在阅读文章，理解文章，分析文章之后做适当扩展和延伸。但在导入时学生思路并不开阔，所以我发现在导入前我应给学生做点语言铺垫。在阅读过程中，部分学生速度较慢，还应要求学生做好充分的预习。在概括每段段意时，只有少数学生能准确概括出段意，我应在概括段意前应教之方法。还有通过培训学习我发现分组讨论环节要有评价，否则活动只会流于形式。
