猜谜和游戏可调动学生的积极性,避免单词教学乏味无趣。如教完第三册(旅游版)第九课单词后,我就出了这么个谜语:I have four legs, I can stand up, but I can’t sit down. Do you know what am I?让学生在本课单词中找谜底table(桌子)。学生觉着既高兴又有趣,在找谜底的过程中,记住了单词table。
接着我让四人一组互相观察描述自己和同学的头发。之后,我让同学们回想我们学校老师或自己家人的头发,并进行描述。有人描述音乐老师的头发说:Our music tracher has long curly blond hair.有人描述数学老师的头发说:Our maths teacher has long straight black hair.有人描述他20岁哥哥的头发说:My brather has short straight yellow hair.最后我让学生观察图片上Jenny,Lynn,Bob和Danny的头发,并分别描述,学生很容易地就说出:Jenny has short curly blond hair. Lynn has long straight red hair. Bob has short straight brown hair. Danny has three green hair.
