Greeting between the teacher and the students.Then the whole class work ,disscussing the following questions: What’s the motto of the 2008 Olympic Games?Faster, higher, stronger. What does it mean? It means we should build ourselves up.(If the students can't answer, I will help them.) The P.E. examination is coming soon .Let the students know “Health is important.”
2. Lead to 1a. Show them a picture and ask them some questions like “ What’s wrong with her ? She has a toothache.( I’ll act as I have a toothache at the same ) What should I do ? You should see a dentist.”Lead in the new lesson.
In this part, learning by the pictures and body language , the students not only review the learned knowledge,but also will be quickly arouse the interest. They will be eager to go to the new lesson.
Step 2 Presentation (10’)
Show several groups of pictures with courseware. Show the words of illness ,help them describe each picture .Get them to ask and answer: What’s wrong/the matter with him/her? He/She has a/the…( The teacher’s body language is very important here.)
2.After familiarizing the diffrernt kinds of illness, I arrange the students to listen to the tape(1a) three times.The first for them to answer the teacher’s question(What’s wrong with KangKnag? What should he do ?) The second for them to read after the tape. And the third for them to write down the missing words.
In this part ,with the help of the courseware, the students can grasp these illness easily .Activity 2 is connected with the listening part of the Exmination to the High School. The students’ listening ,reading and writing is tranied .
Step 3 Practice (12’)
Group work. Have a group competition. Let them act out 1b. Each group prepares two dialogs .I will give them the example ,pictures and the phrases on the courseware in order to help them finish the dialogs. Encourage them to speak more sentences as they can.When they act out the dialog,ask them to perform what they are talking . After preparation ,ask the volunteers in each group to act out their dialogs. If they do well , their group will get a mark A or B (A: best B: better) .The group which has the most A is the winner.
In this part , I guide the students to make the dialogs and give the advice. Check how much they have learned. It also highlight their paticipation and cooperation.Competition can activate the class.
Step 4 Consolidation (5’)
Finish 3a . Read and match, check their answers.Lead them to summarize the usage of should and shouldn’t .Show it on the courseware.
In this part , the students know the usage of modal verbs(should/shouldn’t) and know how to give more advice.
In the other hand,they can communicate and cooperate with others. It also tells them to care for each other and help each other.
Step 5 Project (10’)
Writing Practice.Show some pictures which have learned in this section .Give the key words .Write down the setences
In this part, This activity is connected with the making sentences part of the Exmination to the High School.
Step 6 Listening (2’)
Let the students do Part 4.Listen to the conversation and number the pictures. Listen again ,with the help of the form, write down the advice.
In this part, develop the students’ abilities of listening and writing. This activity is connected with the making sentences part of the Exmination to the High School.
Step 7 Summarition (2’)
Show the summary on the courseware .Read them out for a conclusion.
In this part, it can help the students to focus on the emphase and difficulty of this section. Have a clear idea of what them learned today.
Step 8 Homework (1’)
1. Prepare a dialog and act it out tomorrow.
2. Recite the words.
In this part , homework is necessary. It can consolidate the knowledge newli learned.

VIII. About the teaching thought
With the development of society, English teaching and learning contents are constantly changed. What we study is what we need in our daily life. We should get the students learn to care for each other in daily life and make them healthy and fit for society . That’s my idea about the teaching design of this section.
