Unit 2 I was bornin Quincy.
一、教学目标
【知识目标】
掌握下列单词:born, strict, primary, primacy school, town, friendly, US, hey, village, nice,good, difficult, bathroom, bedroom, garden, living room, coast, east, ago,store, movie theater / theatre, bored, president, lake, last and comfortable。
【能力目标】
1）能听懂包含动词be的过去式 （was /were）的对话。
2）能用动词be的过去式 （was /were）表述自己过去的经历，并能用它询问对方过去的生活。
二、情感态度目标
通过对过去童年或家乡的描述，产生对家乡和美好生活的热爱。
三、教学重难点
1）能够读懂描述过去生活和经历的短文，并能就短文作答。而且，掌握短文通篇大意，学习使用上下文猜测词义的学习方法。
2）能用动词be的过去式 （was /were）描述自己和别人的过去生活和经历。
四、教学过程
Step1：Show the new words and expressions of Unit 2 Module 7.
bathroom,bedroom, garden, living room, coast, east, ago, store, movie theater / theatre,bored, president, lake, last, comfortable
Andthen give students some exercises about the new words.
Completethe sentences according to Chinese and pictures.
1. This is our ________ (浴室) andthat is a _______ (卧室) .
2. This is a _____ (花园) andthat is a ______ (客厅) .
3.This is a ______ (湖) and that is a river.
4.This is a new ________ (商店) and that is an old _________ (电影院) .
5.I lived at the _____ _____ (东部海岸) tenyears _____ (以前).
6.Did their _____ (总统)live there _____ (最 近过去的)year?
7.Was your bed _____ (舒服的) , Lingling?
8.The man was _____ (厌倦的) the computer games.
Step2：Warming-upand Lead in
Togive some pictures and videos about Quincy to students. Let them watch anddescribe them.
Step3：Workin pairs. Label the picture with the words from the box.

Step4：Readthe passage of Activity 2 and choose the correct answer.
1.Betty was/wasn’t happy when she was in Quincy.
2.Two/Three US presidents were born in Quincy.
3.There were/ weren’t pictures on Betty’s bedroom walls.
4.There was/ wasn’t a small lake in the garden.
5.Betty was/ wasn’t in Quincy last year.
Step5：Answerthese questions.

2.Was anyone famous born there?
3.Who were they?
4.What was Betty’s house like?
5.How many rooms were there?
6.What was Betty’s bedroom like?
7.Was there a garden?
8.Were there lots of children?

Step6：Studysome different usages of British English and American English.
Step7：Completethe passage of Activity 4 with the correct form of the words from the box.

Andthen join the sentences with “with”.
1.There was a big living room. There was a TV.

3.There was a small lake. There were fish in it.
→Therewas a small lake with fish in it.
Lookat the passage in Activity 2 again and check.
Step9：Answerthe questions.

Step10：Describeyour past life with the answers from Activity 6.

Step11：Explainand study the important and difficult points.

Step12：Homework
Review and recite the important points of Unit2.
