I Miss You, Luo Baiji
It’s been so long since I last saw you, Luo Baiji. Sometimes it feels like a lifetime ago, and other times it feels like just yesterday. I miss you so much, my dear friend.
We met in college, both studying literature. We bonded over our shared love of poetry and our appreciation for the beauty of language. You were always so talented, with a gift for words that I envied. Your writing was always so raw and honest, and it touched my heart in a way that few things ever have.
But it wasn’t just your writing that drew me to you. It was your kindness, your wit, your infectious laugh. You had a way of making even the darkest days seem a little brighter. I remember how we used to sit in the library for hours, talking about everything and nothing, lost in our own little world.
After college, we both pursued our writing dreams. You went on to publish books, win awards, and make a name for yourself in the literary world. I was so proud of you, and I knew that you had a bright future ahead of you.
But then, one day, you were gone. You disappeared without a trace, leaving behind only a note that said “I’m sorry”. I was devastated. I didn’t know what had happened to you, or why you had left. All I knew was that my world felt a little emptier without you in it.
Years passed, and I never forgot about you. I thought about you often, wondering where you were and what you were doing. I tried to reach out to you, but I never heard back. It was like you had vanished into thin air.
And now, all these years later, I still miss you. I miss your smile, your laugh, your words. I miss the way you used to light up a room with your presence. I miss the way we used to talk until the early hours of the morning, lost in our own little world.
I don’t know if you’ll ever read this, Luo Baiji. I don’t know if you’re still out there, somewhere. But if you are, I want you to know that I miss you. I miss you more than words could ever express.
I hope that wherever you are, you’re happy and healthy and doing what you love. I hope that you’ve found peace and contentment in your life. And I hope that someday, somehow, we’ll be reunited. Until then, my friend, know that you’re always in my thoughts and in my heart.
